This report details the findings of our seventh announced inspection of Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison and our second announced inspection of the new Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison. The inspection was conducted in February 2020.

The sixth announced inspection of Eastern Goldfields Regional prison was undertaken in January 2017.

This sixth inspection of Eastern-Goldfields Regional Prison was conducted in January 2014 as it faced its future with a new purpose built facility.

Over the last decade, Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison has made substantial progress, and the foundations are currently in place for a positive future for correctional services in the region. The new prison (due to open in 2015) and the new Warburton Work Camp represent long overdue and welcome investments.
